Beverly Hills Lights and Fields is a project of
SoccerSpace USA for the
Beverly Hills
Unified School District. Our immediate objective was to complete
the installation of sports lighting at the football field and the upper
field at Beverly Hills High School. In this we were successful, as
you can read below.
| Our next objective is to
renovate the fields and expand the playing area of the upper field.

| THE LIGHTS WERE SWITCHED ON AT NICKOLL
FIELD ON SEPTEMBER 21, 2001. WE DID IT!! WITH NEARLY $250,000 IN
DONATIONS, AND A $234,000 GRANT FROM THE CITY, THE LIGHTS WERE SWITCHED ON FOR THE NORMANS' FIRST HOME FOOTBALL GAME OF
2001.

over 230 of them The Ann Nickoll Walkway was installed and dedicated at a ceremony at Beverly
Hills High School on at 5:45 pm on SEPTEMBER 24, 2002, commemorating the
first year of lit fields at the the school. A huge thanks to our contractor, Audy Harmon, a BHHS
alum who has done a great job, and to Ted Osborn and Gary Christoffi
of Osborn Architects, for contributing the design. |
We worked closely on this project with
Beverly Hills
Unified School District and with the City of Beverly Hills, as well as with the
High School principal,
Ben Bushman, the High School athletics department, and the Associated
Student Body. We are also sponsored by
Region 76 of the American
Youth Soccer Organization.
On May 11, 2001, we announced the creation of the "Norman Walkway."  The
Walkway, which connects the football stadium to the school, will be laid
with bricks and stones inscribed with the names of donors or their
honorees. The campaign will solicit School District families, alumni, community
members and local businesses, to contribute bricks and stones.
